Welcome to UTeachEngineering!

UTeachEngineering, a collaborative initiative of the Cockrell School of Engineering and UTeach Natural Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin, is dedicated to developing leaders in the emerging field of secondary engineering education. Through programs for engineering and science undergraduates as well as for in-service teachers, UTeachEngineering is preparing educators to deliver innovative and exciting curricula that will make young men and women aware of what engineering is, what engineers do, and the role that engineering plays in shaping their world.

Undergraduate Degree Programs

UTeachEngineering is defining new degree pathways for engineering and science students who are interested in entering the teaching profession. Significant financial support is available to students working to complete an undergraduate degree in a technical field while pursuing teaching certification. Learn more about the program >>

Master of Arts in Science and Engineering Education (MASEE)

The UTeachEngineering Master of Arts in Science and Engineering Education (MASEE) program is developing a new generation of Master Teacher leaders in the emerging field of secondary engineering education. Graduates of the MASEE program will return to their districts as highly-qualified content and instructional specialists who are ready to lead students and educators in the transition to challenge- and design-based learning that is at the heart of engineering education.  MASEE applications will be accepted through February 15, 2010.   Learn more about the program and how to apply >>

Engineering Summer Institute for Teachers (ESIT)

The UTeachEngineering Engineering Summer Institutes for Teachers (ESIT) will guide teachers in an exploration of the fields of engineering and the unique pedagogical requirements of engineering education. Teachers participating in this innovative, six-week program will return to the classroom with the tools necessary to engage their students in meaningful, project-based lessons in engineering and science courses.  ESIT applications are now being accepted online for UT Austin, UT El Paso and UT DallasLearn more about the program or apply online now >>
